Toada returns with the "Alta Onda 01” EP – An hybrid where ethereal tones intertwine with modern cadences from the Southern Hemisphere.

Valdir da Silva, the Lisbon producer based in Berlin, also known by his artistic alias Toada (pronounced [ˈtwadɐ]), returns with the “Alta Onda 01” EP.

This release is characterized by its introspective and wistful nature, yet it also presents a contrast with contemporary rhythmic cadences rooted in the Southern Hemisphere.

This hybrid blend is beautifully captured by Serena Becker’s artwork.

A thumping bass runs consistently throughout the four-track EP, anchoring the listener amidst recurring waves of analog warmth and celestial digital synthesizers.
Simultaneously, the playful rhythmic elements showcase the wide variety of influences from Valdir’s personal and musical background.

“Alta Onda 01” signals the start of Toada’s new series of releases titled Alta Onda. Allowing space for compositions that draw inspiration from flowing patterns or musical motifs.

This series marks a nuanced shift in Valdir’s composition style, slightly prioritizing the sensation of body movement and a contemplative state of mind.
